China Shoppe

from I Think I Am by Colette O'Connor

/

about

What if I told you there is a place where all broken things go to be mended? The Japanese have an art called Kintsugi where broken things are mended using gold, in this way true art is created. This China Shoppe would be that place.

lyrics

Someone in the China Shoppe waits.
Minutes into hours fade.
Do not strike the glass
for if it breaks, it can't go back.
Love was born of fire,
long, long ago.
Turning desire into the mold
every beating heart became,
and, in time, remains,
stronger than the glass you can not see
broken in me.
Hope left behind
still beating, beating
Hoping you'll find
all the pieces keeping
where I locked them away
all the fragile things lay
now in the china shoppe case.
Every beating heart became
and in time remains
stronger than the glass you can not see
broken in me.
Someone in the china shoppe waits
minutes into hours fade
Do not strike the glass
for if it breaks it can't
go
back.
